Baritone Melton Sawyer has been receiving critical acclaim for his artistic portrayals of several roles, including Peter in Hansel and Gretel; Morales in Carmen and Junius in The Rape of Lucretia as well as roles in contemporary works such as Thomas Putnam in The Crucible, and Ashmenton in Anthony Braxton's Shala Fears for the Poor.
Equally at home on the concert stage, Melton Sawyer has been heard in Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art; Handel's Dettingen and Utrecht Te Deums; Handel's Judas Maccabeus ; J. S. Bach's Cantata No. 4 and Weinachts Oratorium; and Fauré's Requiem.
